Meet Our Facial / Skin Care Therapists
Kai – Licensed Esthetician
For many years I suffered from acne and its damaging effect on self-confidence. From an early age I developed a strong interest in skin care to help improve my own complexion. This interest eventually led to my career in the beauty industry as an expert make-up artist and product specialist. As an Esthetician I am thrilled to treat my clients’ skin concerns and see the visible improvements.
Meet Our Massage Therapist
Frankie – Certified Massage Therapist
Before I got in massage therapy, I used to shadow my mother, a Physical Therapist in hospitals. It is from her that I learned what it is to be compassionate. Later in life the science surrounding the human body became my focus of interest. Combining the two brought me to my career in massage therapy.
I graduated with honors from the Advanced Neuromuscular Massage Therapy Program at the National Holistic Institute, Emeryville. I assess postural deviances and the lifestyles that affect them using a combination of eastern and western modalities including Neuromuscular Trigger Point Therapy for pain management.
Megan – Certified Massage Therapist
I am a Bay Area native who grew up playing sports and competing in dance. After 10 years of working in the corporate sector doing outside sales, I found myself with injuries and in a chronic pain-spasm cycle. After years of trying a myriad of different therapies including massage, physical therapy, spinal injections, cognitive therapy, acupuncture and chiropractic care, I found that massage therapy is what helped me the most to break the cycle. I followed my heart, knack for the human body and passion for wellness by becoming a CMT. I’m a graduate of National Holistic Institute’s 900 Hour Core Program and continue to give back to that community as a Teaching Assistant, mentoring, teaching and inspiring talented students to follow their dreams.
My approach to healing honors the mind, body and spirit, as I believe in the integral connection and that when we are in balance physically and emotionally we thrive and when we are out of alignment dis-ease sets in. I integrate what my client tells me, what their body shows me along with my intuition to create a safe and comfortable environment to facilitate relaxation and healing.
John – Certified Massage Therapist
I was first certified in 1988 to help address the lack of touch that people with AIDS were experiencing at the time, due to fear and lack of knowledge. Those were tough days, thankfully we’ve come a long way since then. I was doing nurturing, relaxing Swedish at the time.
My approach has evolved over the years. Now I use a combination of deep tissue, joint mobilization, trigger point release and Swedish massage. After talking to clients about their chief complaints, their occupation, recreational activities and setting goals for treatment, I customize the session to fit their issues.
Specializing in slow, deep, therapeutic massage for chronic tightness, soreness, discomfort, and pain. I find deep tissue to be the most effective, with longer last results in managing both chronic and daily tension.
Omar – Certified Massage Therapist
I love that massage can give instant pain relief and relaxation. After getting many massages myself, I decided I wanted to be a therapist and provide that service to others. I’m a graduate of National Holistic Institute of Emeryville, Ca, completing a 900 hour program. My favored styles are deep tissue and Swedish massage. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or muscle relief, I am trained to provide either service.
